Ultimate Watermelon Smoothie

If you know me you know this is a MAJOR milestone...


Allow me to explain a bit better. I am and have always been an EXTREMELY picky eater. In addition to that, I don't like the idea of food touching other foods much less being blended together. It could be considered irrational (it just depends who's telling the story).

Since celebrating my 26th birthday last week, it finally occurred to me that I'm not as young as I used to be. Not that I'm old but I don't have a Benjamin Button situation happening in my life. At this point in my life I'm re-learning how to take better care of myself especially when it comes to my eating habits.

With that revelation, I discovered smoothies. They're good, healthy, filling and ... GOOD! First on the list my Ultimate Watermelon Smoothie concoction. My version of the recipe goes like this:

1.5C Fresh Watermelon Cubes
1.5C Frozen Strawberries
1.5C Plain Yogurt
1 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
*Optional - Spoon in sugar one scoop at the time. Stir. Add more to your liking if necessary.

Update - 9/18/13 - After drinking these for breakfast over the past 2 days with 1 package of oatmeal, I was full most of the day on day one and found myself more alert,energized and ultimately productive on day 2. I think I have found my first favorite...Yay!
