2 Minute Apple Pie a la Mode

December 08, 2014

My sweet tooth has been satisfied.
Dude, I can't even begin to explain how much this tastes like REAL apple pie... It even tastes like there's crust (even though there isn't)! I don't know how it's possible to make apple pie a la mode in 2 minutes, but Betty Crocker made a way!

The picky eater within me is always skeptical of start to finish microwaved "cooking", but my curiosity got the best of me and I'm glad I gave it a try. This is the perfect recipe for when you want pie without making a whole pie.

I apologize in advance that there aren't very many pictures of the process, because it's literally only takes 5 minutes to make this amazing dessert (seriously, it took me longer to write this post). But, I think you will be able to follow this 3 step recipe.
-1/3 Cup Pancake mix
-1/3 Cup packed brown sugar
-1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-2 Tablespoons of melted butter
-2 medium apples
-1/4 teaspoon Lemon Juice

  • In ungreased microwavable casserole dish, arrange apple slices. In small bowl, stir remaining ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
  • Microwave on High for 2-3 minutes, until apples are tender.
  • Serve with Ice Cream. (Makes 2 servings)

That's it! As you can see, I completely had a greedy girl moment and DESTROYED the pie before I could finish photographing. Luckily, I got one good shot before I did.

Try it for yourself and let me know what you think!
