Chai Tea Latte

January 27, 2015

Every now and then, when I don't want to spend $5 on Starbucks...
If you haven't already figured it out, I am a firm believer in Do-It-Yourself. So when I get the urge to drink a latte, obviously, I make it myself. Not because I don't want to support the Starbucks brand, but in the 10 minutes it takes me to go through the process of getting to their shop, I could have been sipping on my own version in less than 5 minutes.

There are 2 very easy ways to make this, and get the same results. I prefer using the first recipe because it's a little more convenient since the Chai part is already done, but it's really just preference. Both recipes are for a single serving.

1 Stash Chai Black Tea Bag
1 Cup Water
1 Cup Milk
1/8 Cup Honey
Sugar to Taste
-Optional: Whipped Cream

1 Cup Water
1 Cup Milk
1/8 Cup Honey
1 Black Tea Bag
1/3 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/3 tsp Ground Cardamom
1/8 tsp Ground Nutmeg
1/8 tsp Ground Cloves
1/8 tsp Ground Ginger

Boil the water and milk. Add other ingredients, then return to boil and let tea bag steep for 3-5 minutes. Remove tea bags (and filter if using the second method). Serve hot or cold with whipped cream topping.
