Influenster #RefreshVoxBox Review

February 23, 2015

Let's try something new!

Every once in a while, I get the opportunity to try out some new products and give my opinion on them. Recently, I was chosen to review the Refresh Vox Box from Influenster which was filled with all kinds of goodies. Any one can sign up to receive the boxes, and it's free! It's not guaranteed that you will get a box, but it doesn't hurt to try, right?

There were several products in my box that I had never heard of and a few that I have. Overall, I enjoyed most of the products and gave my honest opinion on each.

1. Beanitos Chips ($3.49)

Beanitos Chips are "high in healthy fiber & protein – and they contain NO gluten, corn, trans fat, MSG, or GMOs." Since I'm a picky eater,  I immediately thought they were going to be really nasty and/or flavorless since the back of the bag let me know they're pretty much void of everything that makes a chip, a chip. However, I was pleasantly surprised that Beanitos Chips are actually good

I got to try the White Bean and Nacho Cheese flavors. The White Bean flavor tastes just like standard tortilla chips. The Nacho Cheese flavor isn't bad, but they'd never replace Doritos for me. Personally, if you're going to buy them, I'd go with the White Bean flavor.

2. CoverGirl UltraSmooth Foundation ($12.99-$16.99)

The CoverGirl UltraSmooth Foundation is interesting, to say the least. It comes with this rubber mat applicator thing that's supposed to smooth the foundation over your imperfections to give you flawless skin... I've tried this foundation with the fancy applicator 3 times now and, to me, it's a sham. The foundation provides medium coverage and really isn't any different than any other drugstore foundation I use now.

The applicator seems wasteful to me. It doesn't distribute the product that well and really isn't worth the extra $2-$8 bucks they're charging. I say stick with your normal foundation and just use a brush or your hand, because you get the same results.

3. L'Occitane Shea Butter Light Comforting Creme ($28 (50ml))

I'm really loving the L'Occitane Shea Butter Light Comforting Creme. So much so that I'm using it as my morning moisturizer. I loved it so much that I wrote a full post on it. I suggest you read the full review to get the full impact.

4. Montagne Jeunesse Face Masques ($1.49)

I love a good mask, and the Black Seaweed Peel Off Masque is just that. It's a seaweed detox which is cruelty free and vegetarian friendly. This detox mask cleanses deeply and Peels off dirt and grease. It soes have a chemical-esque smell, but it is really gentle on the skin. If I could use it daily I would, but weekly is more than enough.

5. Skinnygirl Tasty Nutrition Bars (5 for $5 at Target through 2/26/15)

Unfortunately, I don't have much to say about the Skinnygirl Tasty Nutrition Bars because they sent me one with Chocolate, and I'm allergic. However, one of my friends tried it and said it was pretty good, so we'll just take her word for it.

6. Listerine PocketPaks ($1.40)

I love when I get to review things I already use! Anyone that knows me knows I always have some form of breath freshener in my bag. I personally prefer chewing gum, but my dentist has advised against that because it pulls out my ceilings. Listerine PocketPaks are one of my favorites because they're convenient and powerful. Plus, they're not nearly as harmful.

7. DenTek Comfort Clean and Fun Flossers ($1.39-3.39)

Yet another must-have item. I love these little flossers because they're a pick, flosser and tongue scraper, all-in-one. They are compact for your convenience, and you don't have to worry about waste like you do with floss.

Overall, I really enjoyed all of the products I received and would really suggest you try everything but the foundation for yourself. All-in-all I give the Influenster Refresh Vox Box 4.2/5 kisses of approval.
